Meet Reland
Finding a therapist who truly understands your experience can be difficult. Reland works with teens and adults, with particular expertise supporting autistic and neurodivergent individuals and trans and gender expansive clients through thoughtful, affirming, and highly individualized care.
-
Reland believes effective therapy starts with understanding more than a list of symptoms. Your history, identity, relationships, environment, and the systems you move through all shape your experience.
Many of the people Reland works with have previously felt misunderstood, pressured to mask, or expected to fit into approaches that weren’t designed with them in mind. Her goal is to create something different: a collaborative space built around curiosity, respect, autonomy, and what actually works for you.
You don’t have to arrive knowing exactly what needs to change. Therapy can be a place to sort through what feels overwhelming, understand where you feel stuck, and begin finding a way forward that feels more sustainable and more your own.

Reland takes an integrative, relational, and systems-informed approach to therapy. Rather than asking clients to fit into one model, she adapts the work to each person’s needs, goals, identity, and lived experience.
She draws from Motivational Interviewing to help clients explore ambivalence, clarify what matters, and create change that feels internally driven. She may also incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy when practical tools for recognizing patterns and building skills are useful.
For neurodivergent clients, that work often involves reducing burnout, understanding individual needs, and creating more sustainable ways of living without relying on constant masking. With trans and gender expansive clients, Reland centers autonomy and self-definition while supporting clients as they navigate identity, relationships, and larger systems.
The goal isn’t to make you fit therapy. It’s to create a therapeutic process that fits you.

As Chief Clinical Officer, Reland helps shape the clinical systems, training, and support behind the care clients receive at Healthy Minds Therapy.
She believes good therapy requires both genuine human connection and thoughtful infrastructure. Clinicians need support, accountability, training, and systems that help them provide consistent care and keep clients from falling through the cracks.
Since 2018, Reland has focused much of her work on developing those systems and helping clinicians provide affirming, responsive, and outcomes-focused care, particularly for communities that have historically been misunderstood or underserved within mental healthcare.
She is especially interested in improving access to care, strengthening support networks around clients, and building clinical systems that make treatment more workable and sustainable in people’s real lives.

Reland is a Licensed Professional Counselor with more than a decade of experience across residential, community, addiction, and outpatient settings.
She is a board-approved clinical supervisor and focuses not only on supervising clinicians, but on strengthening the supervision systems that support them.
Reland is also certified in Neurodiverse Couples Counseling through AANE and brings a background in art therapy to her understanding of creativity, identity, and different ways of experiencing the world.
In 2026, she was recognized as an Alexandria Chamber of Commerce 40 Under 40 honoree for her work in behavioral health leadership and system development.

Reland is a self-described nerd who enjoys long walks accompanied by audiobooks and video essays. Clinical topics are a favorite, but history and fandom rabbit holes are always fair game.
She also loves art and musicals, although she’s selective enough about the latter that when one does make the cut, there’s a good chance she’ll eventually know the entire soundtrack.
At home, she shares life with two Siberian cats and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, all of whom apparently have very strong opinions of their own.
