Meet Naomi
Naomi believes therapy should be a space where you can show up as your authentic self, explore life's uncertainties, and feel supported without judgment.
Warm, affirming, and compassionate, Naomi works with adolescents (ages 12+), adults, families, and LGBTQ+ individuals navigating anxiety, depression, complex trauma, neurodivergence, emotional regulation challenges, identity development, and major life transitions.
Naomi understands that growth isn't always comfortable or straightforward. Their goal is to create a welcoming, collaborative environment where clients feel empowered to embrace who they are, navigate life's challenges, and build a meaningful, fulfilling life on their own terms.
-
Naomi believes everyone deserves access to mental health care that honors their identity, lived experiences, and unique needs.
Grounded in a person-centered and liberation psychology perspective, Naomi strives to create an affirming, nonjudgmental space where clients feel genuinely seen, heard, and understood.
Naomi is especially passionate about supporting LGBTQ+ individuals, autistic and neurodivergent clients, and people from historically marginalized communities. Drawing from her own experiences as a neurodivergent person, Naomi recognizes the importance of flexibility, accessibility, and individualized support in the therapeutic relationship.
Naomi’s work focuses on helping clients navigate uncertainty, develop greater self-understanding, and find ways to move forward that feel authentic and empowering.
-
Naomi understands that no two people experience the world in quite the same way. Their therapeutic approach is flexible, collaborative, and tailored to each client's individual needs and experiences.
Using a person-centered, systems-oriented framework, Naomi integrates techniques from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Gestalt therapy, multicultural counseling, somatic approaches, and existential therapy.
Naomi’s work emphasizes developing practical, accessible emotional regulation strategies while exploring the connections between thoughts, emotions, physical experiences, relationships, and the broader systems that shape our lives.
Rather than focusing solely on managing symptoms, Naomi helps clients build sustainable tools for emotional wellbeing, personal growth, and a life that feels meaningful and joyful.
-
Naomi earned their Master of Arts in Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Virginia Tech.
They are currently practicing as a Resident in Counseling in Virginia.
Naomi brings experience working with individuals across a variety of clinical and community settings, including:
High-risk adolescents involved in juvenile detention, court services, and alternative education programs
School-based counseling and behavioral health services
Outpatient and community-based mental health care
These experiences have strengthened Naomi's understanding of the complex challenges individuals and families may face, particularly when navigating trauma, systemic barriers, and limited access to mental health resources.
Naomi remains committed to culturally responsive, affirming care and meaningful advocacy for individuals and communities whose needs have historically been overlooked.
-
Outside of the therapy room, Naomi enjoys expressing their creativity through writing, crocheting, and exploring new stories and imaginative worlds.
They love reading science fiction and fantasy, playing cozy video games and single-player RPGs, and listening to R&B music.
Whether getting lost in a good book, enjoying a favorite game, or working on a creative project, Naomi appreciates the value of imagination, self-expression, and finding joy in everyday moments.
