Maria Osborne
Resident in Counseling
In-person at Fredericksburg, with telehealth across Virginia
Meet Maria
Maria works with adults and couples who may feel held back by past experiences, anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, or barriers that make it difficult to move toward a more fulfilling future. Her approach is supportive, gently challenging, and grounded in helping clients build the tools and confidence to create meaningful change.
-
Maria believes everyone needs someone who will truly listen without simply telling them what to do.
She works with clients to explore past experiences and current barriers that may be affecting self-esteem, relationships, personal goals, and overall well-being.
Early sessions focus on understanding your story, what you’re struggling with, and what you hope to get from therapy. From there, Maria works collaboratively with you to identify goals and begin moving toward a life that feels more fulfilling.

Maria uses a range of therapeutic approaches based on the needs of each client.
Her work may incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, and Gottman-based approaches for couples.
At the center of her work is the belief that therapy should ultimately help clients develop the tools to manage challenges more independently.
Rather than creating dependence on the therapeutic process, Maria aims to help clients better understand themselves, strengthen their relationships, and build the skills they need to continue moving forward.
-
Maria is a Resident in Counseling working toward licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia.
She works under the supervision of Jack Fox, LPC, and has experience supporting a diverse range of adult clients, including college-aged individuals, middle-aged adults, couples, and people with intellectual disabilities.
