She values meeting people exactly where they are and walking alongside them through a collaborative, goal-oriented process that respects their lived experience, identity, strengths, and goals.

-
Katie takes a relational and person-centered approach while drawing from evidence-based modalities based on each client’s needs.
Her work may incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, mindfulness-based strategies, and EMDR.
As a neurodivergent-affirming and gender-affirming clinician, Katie believes therapy should honor each person’s identity and lived experience rather than asking them to fit into a predetermined model of what healing should look like.
-
In addition to her clinical work, Katie serves as a Licensed Team Lead at Healthy Minds Therapy.
Her role allows her to support both clients and the broader clinical team while bringing a collaborative, affirming perspective to the work happening across the practice.
-
Katie earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University and her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a focus on Special Education from Palm Beach Atlantic University.
Her professional experience includes private practice, Partial Hospitalization Programs, and Intensive Outpatient Programs, where she has supported children, teens, adults, couples, families, veterans, and individuals with disabilities.
Katie is trained in EMDR and is currently completing coursework to become a Certified Personality Disorder Therapist.
-
Katie is an avid knitter and often wears her own handmade sweaters to work.
She also loves caring for houseplants and uses them throughout both her home and office.
And in her own words, she’s a huge nerd.
