Meet Jonathan
Jonathan works with adults and couples navigating addiction and compulsive behaviors, men’s mental health, anxiety, depression, questions of purpose, and the feeling of being stuck in early adulthood. His approach is authentic, thoughtful, and grounded in helping clients build lives they feel more connected to rather than constantly needing to escape from.
-
Most of us find ways to escape stress, loneliness, boredom, uncertainty, regret, or whatever else feels difficult to sit with.
Jonathan’s goal isn’t to judge that impulse. It’s to help clients better understand what they may be trying to get away from and begin building a life that feels more meaningful, fulfilling, and worth staying present for.
He often works well with thoughtful adults who appear to be functioning reasonably well on the outside but feel dissatisfied, disconnected, uncertain, or unsure of what they’re actually moving toward.

Jonathan’s professional home is existential therapy.
That means the work may explore larger questions beneath everyday struggles: What gives your life meaning? What kind of person do you want to become? What do you value? Are you actually living in a way that reflects those values?
He also draws from Narrative Therapy, Gestalt, and person-centered approaches and is comfortable incorporating more structured tools when they’re useful.
Above all, Jonathan values authenticity. He doesn’t believe therapy should feel like talking to a detached expert or following a generic formula. He brings his training, curiosity, and genuine humanity into the room while helping clients find their own way forward.
-
Jonathan is particularly interested in working with addiction and compulsive behaviors, men’s mental health, prolonged adolescence, and questions around purpose and fulfillment.
He sees many of these concerns as connected to deeper questions about identity, values, relationships, and how someone wants to spend their life.
Rather than chasing quick fixes, Jonathan prefers to take the time to understand what a client is actually struggling with, challenge them when helpful, and work together toward change that feels meaningful and sustainable.
-
Jonathan is a Graduate Level Intern working with adults and couples.
He is especially interested in expanding his work around compulsive sexual behavior and plans to pursue Certified Sex Addiction Therapist training as he continues developing clinically
-
Jonathan lives in Washington, DC.
And based on the bio he submitted, it’s probably fair to say he appreciates a good Norm MacDonald joke almost as much as a good existential question.
