Meet Jazmin
Jazmin works with teens and adults and is especially passionate about supporting at-risk youth, BIPOC clients, and people whose identities or experiences have been marginalized. Her approach is trauma-informed, person-centered, solution-focused, and grounded in empathy, cultural responsiveness, and collaboration.
-
Jazmin believes anyone can grow and heal when they have the right tools, enough time, and a space that truly feels safe.
For her, safety in therapy isn’t something the therapist gets to define alone. It’s something built collaboratively with each client through trust, respect, and an understanding of what helps that person feel supported.
Her experience working with teens in crisis helped deepen her commitment to trauma-informed care that is accessible, affirming, and rooted in empathy.

Jazmin’s therapeutic style is trauma-informed, person-centered, and solution-focused, with a foundation in Relational-Cultural Theory.
She adapts the work to each client’s individual needs and goals while paying close attention to the impact of culture, identity, systems, and lived experience.
Jazmin is especially committed to supporting BIPOC clients and creating affirming care that centers cultural competence rather than treating it as an afterthought. Social justice and client advocacy are important parts of how she approaches both therapy and the broader mental health field.
-
Jazmin earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.
During graduate school, she worked with teens in crisis at a local residential facility, where she developed a strong interest in trauma-informed work and supporting youth who may have had limited access to affirming care.
She is currently a Resident in Counseling working toward licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia under the supervision of Christy Heyn, LPC.
-
Outside of work, Jazmin stays connected to community advocacy and participates in events supporting causes that matter to her.
She also enjoys crocheting, playing video games, staying active, watching her favorite shows, and spending time with friends.
For Jazmin, advocacy and self-care both matter, and she hopes to help clients build room for both in their own lives.
