Isabella Garcia
Resident in Counseling
In-person at Fairfax, with telehealth across Virginia
Meet Isabella
Isabella works with teens and adults navigating anxiety, neurodivergence, LGBTQIA+ identity, substance use recovery, depression, loneliness, and major life transitions. Her approach is warm, collaborative, trauma-informed, and proudly geek-friendly, creating space for clients to bring their full selves into therapy.
-
Life can be difficult, anxiety-inducing, and sometimes hard to make sense of on your own.
Isabella works to create a supportive environment where clients can talk openly about what they’re going through without feeling like they need to edit themselves or leave important parts of who they are at the door.
Early sessions focus on understanding your story, what brought you to therapy, and what kind of support may feel most useful. From there, Isabella works alongside you to better understand what’s happening and find ways to move through difficult periods with greater support and confidence.

Isabella uses an integrative approach based on each client’s needs, experiences, and goals.
Her work may incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, psychoeducation, Internal Family Systems-informed parts work, and person-centered therapy.
She also brings a trauma-informed perspective to sessions, creating space for difficult experiences to be explored at a pace that feels safe and manageable.
Isabella has previous experience supporting autistic children and teens as well as LGBTQIA+ clients, and she values creating an affirming environment where people’s identities, interests, quirks, and passions are welcomed rather than treated as something to work around.
-
Isabella is a Resident in Counseling with experience supporting teens and adults across a range of emotional, identity-related, and neurodivergent concerns.
She is especially interested in continuing to deepen her training around anxiety and trauma and hopes to pursue EMDR training in the future.
-
Soccer is a big part of Isabella’s life, and she has season tickets to the Washington Spirit.
She’s also a serious video game fan, especially when it comes to story-driven games. A couple of favorites include Baldur’s Gate 3 and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
And when she’s away from a screen or soccer field, there’s a good chance she’s baking and trying out a new recipe.
