Heather Hayden, LPC
Licensed Professional Counselor
In-person at Alexandria, with telehealth across Virginia
Meet Heather
Heather works with teens ages 13+ and adults who want to feel more confident in themselves and their relationships. She supports clients navigating anxiety, self-doubt, communication challenges, boundaries, and past experiences that may still be shaping how they feel and connect with others.
-
Past experiences can have a way of showing up in the present, especially in the way we think about ourselves, communicate, and relate to the people around us.
Heather helps clients slow down and make sense of those patterns while creating space to explore what may need to change.
Her goal is to help clients feel more confident in who they are, strengthen their relationships, and recognize the value they bring to the world.

Heather primarily works from person-centered and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy perspectives.
Her approach is collaborative and tailored to each client’s individual needs. She creates a supportive, down-to-earth environment while also helping clients recognize and reframe thought patterns that may no longer be serving them.
The work may include strengthening communication, setting clearer boundaries, understanding formative experiences, and building a greater sense of confidence and alignment with who you are.

Heather earned her Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Eastern Mennonite University and her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Fairmont State University.
She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and provides both in-person and telehealth therapy through Healthy Minds Therapy.
