Meet Gracie
Gracie believes therapy should feel like a place where you can show up exactly as you are—without having to have everything figured out first.
Warm, compassionate, and strengths-based, Gracie works with children, adolescents, and adults. She strives to create a welcoming and collaborative environment where clients feel heard, understood, and comfortable being themselves.
Gracie believes therapy doesn’t have to feel intimidating or overly formal. She brings warmth, authenticity, flexibility, and a little bit of playfulness to her sessions while helping clients recognize the strengths they already have and develop tools that work for their lives.
-
Gracie understands that starting therapy can feel unfamiliar or even intimidating. Her goal is to create a space where clients can settle in, be themselves, and feel supported without pressure to have all the answers.
Her approach is trauma-informed, person-centered, and individualized to each client. She works collaboratively with clients to understand what they’re experiencing, recognize their existing strengths, and identify meaningful ways to move forward.
Gracie has a particular interest in supporting children and adolescents, women, and individuals navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, and chronic health challenges.
-
Gracie draws from several evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and strengths-based practices.
Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, she adapts therapy to the individual, incorporating strategies and tools that feel realistic and useful in everyday life.
Whether working through a difficult season, learning to manage overwhelming emotions, or building greater confidence and self-understanding, Gracie helps clients recognize what is already working while developing new skills to support their growth.
-
Gracie earned her Master of Social Work from George Mason University, where she focused on children, youth, and families. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Digital Studies from the University of Mary Washington.
During her graduate training, Gracie participated in George Mason University’s Interprofessional Behavioral Health Training Program for Youth Serving Professionals, funded through the Health Resources and Services Administration’s Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training for Professionals program.
Through this experience, she received specialized training in pediatric and adolescent behavioral health and interprofessional care.
Gracie is also pursuing additional training in equine-assisted psychotherapy, further expanding the ways she can support clients through connection, experiential learning, and therapeutic relationships.
-
Adoma has a particular passion for working with adolescents and young adults.
She creates space for younger clients to express themselves openly, better understand their emotions, and develop healthier coping skills while paying attention to the larger environments and systems affecting their lives.
Adoma is also deeply committed to culturally responsive care. She approaches clients’ traditions, values, family systems, and lived experiences with cultural humility and works to reduce stigma and barriers to mental health support.
-
Outside of the therapy room, Gracie enjoys reading, crafting, spending time with her dogs, and working with horses.
Her love of creativity and animals is also reflected in her interest in equine-assisted psychotherapy. Whether in or outside of therapy, Gracie values connection, authenticity, and creating spaces where people can feel comfortable being themselves.
