Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, and Emily believes feeling safe and supported is an important part of making the process work.
She helps clients make sense of what they’re experiencing, recognize their strengths, and develop practical coping strategies they can use in everyday life.
Whether someone is navigating a difficult transition, managing anxiety or depression, adjusting to chronic pain, or working through relationship concerns, Emily focuses on helping clients move toward meaningful goals at a pace that feels manageable.

Emily takes a holistic approach to therapy and adapts the work to fit each client’s individual needs.
Her work may incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and person-centered approaches.
She focuses on helping clients better understand what they’re experiencing, build practical coping skills, and create changes that support both emotional well-being and day-to-day functioning.
-
Emily has two years of experience working in a pain management clinic, an experience that deepened her interest in supporting people living with chronic pain.
That work helped shape her understanding of the connection between physical health, emotional well-being, and daily functioning.
She is also continuing to develop her work with couples and relationship dynamics and is currently completing the first level of Gottman Method training.
-
Emily earned her Master of Arts in Counseling with a specialization in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marymount University and her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from St. Mary’s College of Maryland.
Her previous experience includes work as a behavior technician as well as clinical work with people experiencing chronic pain.
She continues to build her skills in couples counseling, relationship dynamics, and holistic approaches to mental health.
-
Emily loves spending time outdoors and has a goal of visiting every national park in the U.S.
She’s also almost always listening to music and loves going to concerts.
And when she’s baking, lemon bars are one of her favorites.
