Eliza Bonilla, MSW
Supervisee in Clinical Social Work
In-person at Alexandria, with telehealth across Virginia
Meet Eliza
Eliza works with children ages 5+, teens, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, low self-esteem, relationship challenges, and developmental concerns. She also has experience supporting neurodivergent clients, including individuals on the autism spectrum.
-
Eliza works to create a safe, empathetic environment where each client’s strengths, needs, and experiences are taken seriously.
She believes therapy should feel supportive and adaptable rather than one-size-fits-all. Whether she’s working with a child, teen, or adult, Eliza focuses on helping clients better understand what they’re experiencing, strengthen coping skills, and move through challenges with greater confidence.
Her background in child development, early childhood education, and foster care prevention also informs the thoughtful, developmentally aware approach she brings to her work.

Eliza blends evidence-based approaches with creative and developmentally appropriate techniques based on each client’s needs.
Her work may incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, mindfulness, play, and art.
When working with younger clients, Eliza uses play and creative activities to help therapy feel more natural and engaging while still supporting meaningful emotional and behavioral growth.
She is also interested in continuing to deepen her knowledge of OCD and developmental disabilities.
-
Eliza earned her Bachelor of Social Work from James Madison University in 2022 and her Master of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2024.
Her professional background includes experience in early childhood education and foster care prevention services, as well as work related to child development, child welfare, and developmental disabilities.
She continues to build her clinical skills as a Supervisee in Clinical Social Work while expanding her knowledge of OCD and developmental concerns.

Eliza has a pet crested gecko named Charlie.
She’s also a big Harry Potter fan and loves collecting things, especially houseplants and Pokémon cards.
