Meet Ching
Finding the right psychiatric provider and trusting someone with your health can feel like a big step. Ching works with children, teens, and adults and brings a thoughtful, holistic approach to psychiatric care, creating space for clients to feel comfortable asking questions, being vulnerable, and taking an active role in their treatment.
-
Mental health doesn’t exist in isolation. Ching believes that stress, relationships, environment, physical health, and other parts of everyday life can all influence how someone is feeling.
Through open conversation and thorough evaluation, she works with clients to identify factors that may be affecting their mental health and develop a treatment approach around their individual needs and goals.
Her aim is to create a comfortable setting where clients feel safe communicating openly and can make informed decisions about their care.

Ching takes a holistic and conservative approach to psychiatric medication management.
When medication is appropriate, she strives to use the lowest effective dosage and the fewest medications necessary while still working toward each client’s health goals.
She also incorporates talk therapy into her approach and values ongoing conversation about how treatment is working, what may be contributing to symptoms, and where adjustments may be helpful.
Her goal is not simply to prescribe medication, but to work collaboratively with clients toward healthier, more sustainable days.
-
In addition to her work with clients, Ching serves as Nurse Practitioner Services Director at Healthy Minds Therapy.
Her role brings together her clinical experience and psychiatric training as she helps support the practice’s psychiatric services and the clients who rely on them.
-
Ching earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from George Mason University and has worked in a variety of nursing settings, including hospital, primary care, and urgent care.
After working with people across a wide range of ages and health concerns, she continued her education at Shenandoah University, earning her Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in psychiatry.
That broader nursing background continues to inform the way she approaches psychiatric care and her belief in considering both mental health and the larger factors affecting a person’s well-being.
-
Ching was born in Hong Kong and is fluent in two languages.
She also has a musical side and plays both the piano and violin.
