Anna Conboy, MSW
Social Work Supervisee
In-person at Fairfax, with telehealth across Virginia
Meet Anna
Anna works with children, teens, adults, couples & families across all stages of life. She supports clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional abuse, self-esteem, stress, attachment concerns, communication challenges, and parenting concerns through a person-centered and collaborative approach.
-
Anna believes therapy should feel supportive, collaborative, and grounded in goals that are realistic for the person or family in front of her.
She works with clients to identify the challenges they want to address, create attainable treatment goals, and build a path toward outcomes that feel meaningful to them.
Sessions are designed to offer a safe place to process what’s happening, explore patterns, and develop practical tools for moving forward.

-
Anna tailors therapy to each client’s age, needs, and goals rather than relying on one single approach.
Her work may incorporate Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, psychoeducation, Exposure Therapy, safety planning, and Play Therapy.
Because she works across the lifespan, Anna adapts the therapeutic process to fit children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families in ways that feel developmentally appropriate and practical.
-
Anna holds a Master of Social Work and is currently practicing as a Resident Therapist.
She is interested in continuing to broaden her clinical knowledge across a variety of therapeutic approaches, with particular interest in developing her skills in Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
More broadly, Anna enjoys learning anything that helps expand the range of individuals and families she can support.
-
Anna enjoys practicing and promoting activities that help regulate the nervous system and support overall well-being.
She also loves to travel, explore new places, and learn about other cultures.
And she believes a good sense of humor matters—she tries to make room for a good laugh every day.
